Decree of Transfer of the EHJ Novitiate House and the Blessing of the New Novitiate House
Decree of Transfer of the EHJ Novitiate House
On July 16, 2020, feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a decree was signed by Sr. Mary Agatha Osarenkhoe, EHJ, the Superior General and Sr. Jane Marie Ojapah, EHJ, the Secretary General to move the Novitiate House to a new location. The letter read in part as follows:
“I, Sr. Mary Agatha Osarenkhoe, Superior General of the Religious Institute of the Sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, having received the consent of my Council, do hereby transfer the novitiate house of the Sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus from Aleke street, Ibonwon to Ajegule street, Ibonwon.”
In the same letter she cited the following reasons for this move:
“…the present setting of the novitiate has become too crowded with persons and apostolates that pose as distractions to the formators and novices. We need a more tranquil environment that will inspire and enhance the quality of prayer and studies needed by the novices to discern and understand the divine vocation, and vocation to the Institute.”
It is hoped that “the new location of the novitiate house will be an oasis of silence
and prayer to help the novices realize the end of the novitiate…”
The photos below show that the intentions were well crafted in the design and serene environment of the new House.
