To be able to truly listen requires courage and a Free and Open heart without prejudice. We must rediscover listening as an essential for good communication.
The Boundless Desire to be Heard, a desire that often remains hidden. The act of listening therefore corresponds to the humble Style of God. It is the action that allows God to reveal Himself as the one who by Speaking Created us.
Do not flee from the relationship with God and “Close your Ears”. God reveals Himself by communicating freely with Humans. When we listen, we make a good communication, therefore we must not eavesdrop or spy to exploit others for our own interest nor impose your point of view on others.
Listening is the first indispensable ingredients of dialogue and good communication. We cannot say we have communicated well when listening has not taken place. There is no good journalist without the ability to listen.
The most important task in pastoral activity is the Apostolate of the Ear, to listen before speaking. Therefore, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak. Freely giving some of our time to listen to people is the first act of Charity.
