News from EHJ Model College, Asa Dam in Ilorin Kwara State
The Kwara Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) Tax Club Quiz Competition is an annual programme organized by the KWIRS on behalf of the Kwara State Government. The essence of the competition is to orient young people on tax issues among students at secondary and tertiary level and also to reward the best three performing schools.
The year 2021 was the 6th edition of the competition and EHJMC Asa-Dam was invited to participate. A total of 185 schools registered for the competition across the state from the three senatorial districts but only 122 schools turned out. After all the rounds slated for different dates and time, EHJMC emerged the First Runner -up with prizes designated as follows;
a) Students category: #300,000.00 which is in form of scholarship.
b) Teachers category: #100,000.00
c) School category: #1,500,000.00 which is to be used to execute a project in the school.
The management in her wisdom used it to start the project of building a Language laboratory. The project is already completed for use.
