Rev. Sr. Mary Kizito Iyamabo, EHJ

Elected: 1997 – 2003 – The Sixth Superior General

Sr. Mary Kizito Iyamabo was elected the Superior General of the Institute of the Sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus for a period of six years (1997-2003).

There was marked growth in our Institute under the leadership of Sr. Mary Kizito Iyamabo, with the building of the Institute’s own projects. The Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, Asa-Dam, Ilorin was built during this time. The EHJ religious Article Shop in Ikeja was started. There was a donation of a building complex, a home to take care of the Needy. During this time the Altar Bread Project was moved from Sapele, Delta State to Ikeja, Lagos State. Modern equipment was purchased and Sr. Iyamabo ensured proper supervision for quality production.

The mission abroad picked up again. Our Institute served at the National Secretariat and the Renewal Centre, Iva-Valley, a Project owned by Nigeria Conference of Women Religious (NCWR).
