Diamond, Golden and Silver Jubilee Celebrations of First Profession of Vows

SILVER JUBILEE

Rev. Sr. Joana Maria Nwanne Madu, EHJ
Sr. Joana Nwanne Madu was born in Okija in Anambra State, Nigeria. She began her journey to the Institute of the Sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus in 1992. She made her first profession of vows in 1995.

She had her masters degree in Mission Studies from St. Paul’s University Ottawa, Canada and presently working in Halifax, Canada. She is so grateful to God, her religious and biological families, friends and well-wishers for their love, care spiritually and otherwise. It has been a journey of faith, spiritual adventure and discoveries she said.
When asked how she feels celebrating the silver jubilee of her religious profession of vows, she has this to say…
“I discovered God’s relentless efforts to bring me close to himself. I am beginning to learn how to follow God one step at a time. I am beginning to understand that freedom that Jesus spoke about when He said that if the Son of man sets you free, you are free indeed. Discovering all of the sentiments of Jesus in the Eucharist (Love, Sacrifice, Compassion, and Mercy) which He builds into us so that we can be His hands, feet and heart to reach out to the others whom we serve”.

In her appreciation, she thanked all that supported her in this journey of faith. She celebrated her silver jubilee in Canada since she couldn’t come home (Nigeria) for her celebration. She thereby calls her heart the home of God, and since she is alive to celebrate the day though outside home-Nigeria, she has found a better home where God dwells which is her heart and she looks forward to that better home in heaven where she prayed we shall all be to see God face to face.
It was a celebration of God’s faithfulness to her which she now realizes that she can celebrate every moment of her life.
